The Regatta Lepa is a festivity that showcases the vagrant Bajau Laut community. This time, the event will take place during the month of August. Semporna holds significant significance as it serves as the main gateway to Sabah's famed diving havens, including Mataking Island, Kapalai Island, Mabul Island, Pom Pom Island, Tun Sakaran Marine Park, and the notorious Sipadan Island. 

 

 The highlight of the Regatta Lepa is the alluring floating cortege of' lepa' boats, adorned in vibrant colors, accompanied by the metrical and witching

 traditional Bajau cotillion known as Igal- Igal. In addition, the festivity features other instigative lodestones , similar as the Beauty Pageant' Regatta Lepa Queen,' the thrilling Lepa haul of War, the competitive Lepa boat race, and mesmerizing artistic performances that showcase the rich heritage of the Bajau community.
